Build Your Own Crystal Radio
A good basic kit with everything you need to build a very simple crystal radio. This is not hi-tech hi-fi. Geared for ages eight and up, it is a complete kit with wonderfully straight forward instructions which walk the experimenter through hooking up tuning needle, crystal diode, and earphone, and experimenting to find useful antennas. Rejoice, we have finally found a source of reasonably priced borosilicate lab glassware. This is the kind of glass in the trade marked Pyrex(tm) and Kimax(tm) labware. The stuff you can put right over the flame of the Bunsen burner, or directly onto the hot plate. This stuff is imported from China, and is considered student grade, which is good enough for anything but the most exotic applications. We have beakers, test tubes, graduated cylinders and flasks. Compare the prices below and you will see that they are around half the U.S. equivalent. Call us for larger quantity prices.

Glorious Steam Stationary Plants...
Build a real head of live steam in the boiler, ease the throttle open and watch the engine take off. The stationary steam plants have nickel plated brass horizontal boiler, water gauge, whistle, safety valve, throttle, 3" dia flywheel and power takeoff pulley. Our dry pellet fuel model (includes 20 fuel pellets) has a single action horizontal piston engine and comes as a kit. It requires about 2 hours to assemble and mount on its roughly 7" sq base, using simple tools like pliers and screwdriver. Assembly adds to the fun and cuts the price! All parts of each are precision metal, plated or enameled as appropriate. Select a small DC motor that will operate as a generator from our catalogs and see if you can become a 19th century electric utility!! Requires light assembly. Ages 10 and up. Add a box of (20) extra fuel pellets for even more hours of enjoyment!

Lab Stand
Affordable, adaptable lab equipment for serious scientists with laughable budgets. The basic stand is heavy black metal 8" long x 5" wide x 1" high with a 19-1/2" x 3/8" dia support rod screwed into it. Position a beaker or bunsen burner on the stand and build the configuration you need above it. Both of the Burette clamps and the ring attach to the rod with thumbscrew clamps. The Burette clamps have wing nuts so they can be adjusted to any angle. The single clamp extends 4" from the rod, with rounded, uncoated, adjustable metal jaws with spring tension and a wing nut. The double clamp like it has rubber-coated jaws. The 3" metal support ring holds the 6" x 6" heavy-gauge steel-mesh burner screen with crimped edges. Nice, solid equipment at a rare price.

We're really charged up about this modular Electronic Lab from Maxitronix(tm) that appeals to both girls and boys.
