The historical giants in our superhero collection, reduced to 5" to 6" tall plastic figures, wear their contemporary dress. Thus confined, they're limited to moving limbs and heads, with some being more motile than others. These superheroes are actual historical figures, though, rather than Hollywood heroes. Leonardo also comes with a 4-1/4" easel, plus a little frame with (4) interchangeable masterpieces to display. All the figures include fascinating facts and short biographies on the back of the package.

It just ain't gonna spill the beads. Or the fishhooks, or screws, or whatever you're storing in the 7-1/2" x 5" x 1-1/2" deep Store-in-It box. The translucent-plastic box with (1) 3-1/2" x 1-1/4" and (10) 1-3/4" x 1-1/2" compartments has a hinged lid that not only snaps shut, it has an extra little security latch. The British Are Coming
From our friends at the Naval Training Equipment Center come these 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” black-on-white flash cards of U.S. and foreign ships and planes. The 2-deck set has (55) cards for ships and (55) for planes and copters. (The cards are from 1983, so those that are no longer current, are now collectible!) Each aircraft card shows silhouettes from different perspectives, with the wing and fuselage markings as well as info on size, speed and range. Each ship card shows the silhouette and a diagram of the weapons placement, and lists the countries, class, length and displacement for that ship. Interesting. Informative. Very cool looking, whether you’re interested in arms or in art!

Find Your Drink in a Flash
These are LED-enhanced translucent- and white-plastic drink coasters. Neither needs a switch, because your drink turns them on. The small one is 3/8” thick x 3-1/2” dia with six red LEDs that flash in a circular pattern around the perimeter. Comes with (2) replaceable L1131 button cell batteries. Ignore the instructions on the bag--we think these used to be part of a name tag for meetings much too festive for us. The larger one is 1/4” thick x 4” dia and needs a dark room to show its stuff—a couple of red LEDs alternately fade in and out, flash, and impart a faint red glow to the bubble-filled perimeter. Comes with a replaceable CR2016 lithium battery. We don’t party all that much around here, so we just use ours to stick notes in an empty coffee cup—sort of a “message waiting” light for the people who won’t check their voice mail.

Dymo®-labeling through the ages. The M10 is chrome and plastic (call it the Camaro) and takes 1/4" or 3/8" tapes, and is still retailing for over 3-1/2 times our price. The M1580 is the consumer-grade, plastic model in fashionable shades. (Some are avocado!) It's the 1972 Vega of labelers-but still a bargain. Any one of them will make you feel all organized and virtuous while you make nametags, label your mailbox, and identify files, kids and pets.

And close enough, because sometimes the threat of security will do. Our simulacamera looks like the real thing, even though it isn't, with an activation light and a quite real motion detector that causes the "camera" to pan from side to side. The unit measures 3-3/4" x 2" x 2" with a 1-1/4" dia lens. It's mounted on an adjustable 4" x 1-1/8" x 3/4" arm attached to 3-1/8" dia baseplate with (2) 3/16" mounting holes. The angle adjusts from 45 to 180 degrees, and the motion detector starts the head swinging 20 degrees in either direction for approx (15) seconds. Takes (2) "AA" batteries, not included, but does include mounting screws and mollies-and a tiny, tiny price.

Redo the Loo
Get started with this wax seal for toilet bowls. It measures approx 5-3/4" OD x 2-3/4" ID x 1" thick, fits 3" or 4" outlets, and comes with a plastic sleeve and installation instructions. The package of toilet bolts includes (2) 1/4" x 2-1/4" bolts with nuts and washers for securing the bowl to the floor. The toilet seat hinge set is white plastic, with mounting screws. The flush tank lever with the 8" long interior extension arm is chromed aluminum. Finally, the tank bolt replacement set, for securing the toilet tank to the bowl, is a pair of 3" long x 1/4"-18 brass bolts, with nuts, rubber gaskets and brass washers.
