LEDs By The Dozen
Light emitting diodes. Solid state devices that provide the ubiquitous power and indicator lights on your electronic gadgetry. Unlike lamps, there are no filaments that glow. Rather, some two volts of DC power at a miniscule 10 to 20 milliamps of current get the chemistry excited, and they just plain emit. Emit is a good word, too, as they don't really cast light, but glow brightly. We have a nice assortment of 3 and 5 MM diameter sizes in red, green, orange, and yellow. The longer lead is always positive, the shorter always negative, and you always need a current limiting resistor (about 500 to 1,000 ohms for 5 to 9 volt DC sources) to keep the current in the 10-20 MA range. If that's Greek to you you're either going to blow a lot of LED's or learn to change incandescent indicator lamps ! !

Nuts & Screws
Ten of each, to be precise. 1/4-20 threaded, the screws are 1-1/2" long with phillips/slot heads, and the nuts are of the hex persuasion. They're so pretty with their (10) matching 1/4" washers that you may just want to set them out and gaze at them. They are packed in pairs in a little plastic bags so we call your purchase a "pkg(5)"

Rectifier
Great for fixing your power boo boos up to 4 amps @ 100 Volts. (Forgive the pun, it is late.) The full bridge rectifier is a 4-pin single in-line package (SIP) type with an oval hole for heat sink mounting. 7/8" x 3/4" x 1/4" it should be great in a power supply!

Battery Holders
We have a number of battery holders, constantly changing in detail. They may be plastic, they may be metal. They all have either simple short wire leads or connection points. In all cases, they hold a number of batteries and connect them internally in series. The table shows the number and type of batteries held, the final voltage, material, lead type and price.

The Daily Grind
Assorted grinding stones, all mounted on arbors of varying lengths, but one shaft size: 1/4" dia. to be precise. The sizes of the stones themselves range from 1/4" dia. to 2" dia. and from 3/4" to 3" in length. A variety of colors, grits and shapes such as discs, cones, barrels, etc. We choose (3) different stones for your grinding pleasure.

Digital Multimeter
3-1/2 digit LCD electrical multimeter with a max reading of 1999. Measures (5) ranges of DC, (2) ranges of AC voltage both to 500 V, (5) ranges of resistance to 200K ohms, DC current to 10 Amp., diode test, transistor and battery test. A pocket sized 2-7/8" x 5-3/4" x 1-1/2", it comes complete with test leads and 9 volt battery. The best value for this size we have seen.

Kaboom
One of our truly unusual treasures. It's a used 28 VDC single-pole/single-throw toggle switch, possibly military surplus. A sensor mounted on it is labeled Oxygen Warning Switch. We think that means that it switches off in the presence of pure oxygen, the better to keep from blowing something to kingdom come with an errant spark. Overall, it's 3-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1", not counting the 3/4" toggle. The 3-pole sensor itself is under a black-painted aluminum cover 1-1/2" high x 7/8" dia. (3) leads, (3) holes in its right-angle mounting bracket. We're just not sure what it is that would be blown up if it weren't there.

Takeout Hitachis
Clone motors –– almost. The 24 VDC Hitachi stepper motors (both of which are labeled with Kodak’s part number 315871) are almost identical. Each has 1:5 gearboxes, (3) Hall–effect sensors, and 12 steps per revolution (without the gearbox). The motor cases are 1–3/4” thick x 3–5/8” dia. The 2–1/2” sq x 15/16” thick gearboxes terminate in 1” x 3/8” dia flattened shafts with mounted plastic cams. Each has a set of (7) and a set of (3) leads with Molex–type connectors. The only difference between the takeout motors is that one draws 3 amps, and the other draws 2.4 amps. Sorry, folks, that’s all we know.

Rotary Tool Set
Not every well-made rotary tool is a big-D. We consider this one not only a good-quality tool, but an excellent buy. The fitted plastic carrying case 12" x 8-1/2" x 3-1/2" contains not only the 120VAC-powered 8,000-30,000 rpm mini grinder, but a stand with a C-clamp to mount it on a bench or table, a 3-ft extension shaft, and a good assortment of bits, grinding stones, cut-off wheels, etc, including collets to fit 1/8" and 1/16" bits. The telescoping stand extends from 10" to almost 22" and holds the tool above your work, while you grind, sand, cut, etc., with the tip of the convenient, easy-to-grip, flexible extension. A nice package, and a very nice gift for yourself, or for anyone who enjoys working with hobby tools.

Screw-Plus, That’s Us
Assorted hardware from Textron Logistics Company: Most of the screws are round-headed machine screws with matching nuts and combination slotted/Phillips heads. The screw eyes are all-steel. The wood screws are brass. The lock nuts have nylon inserts. The number of screws in each pack varies, but you’ll get (8) of the packs. We’ll let you do the multiplication.
