One of those sharpie East Coast outfits pulled a fast one on this poor naive Midwestern dealer. The result is we have a pile of exotic coated copper magnet wire. The coatings and colors vary widely, as does the gauge of the wire. With a couple of exceptions there isn't enough of any one kind among the hundreds in the pile to list separately. So we are offering an assortment and you get whatever we grab. Either way you will get a terrific value, particularly if you have an exotic application and get just what you need. Even if you are just making a garden variety coil or electromagnet you will still find the prices are very good. So go ahead, profit from our misfortune. We are glad to be of service. Sigh.

A big grab bag of LED display tiles. Assorted colors - red, green, amber - and displays. Small are 1" x 2" and smaller; 3-9 volts; and include seven-segment numeric, dot matrix, and alphanumeric. Sorry, we can't tell you what size or display you'll get, but Small has at least (4) different. Think of it as a surprise present from Uncle Barry. Hook 'em up and find out what he gave you!

The wave of the future. Create your own ISP or long-distance phone company. The plastic fiber-optic cables are clear, 1/32" dia single strand. Unjacketed is IFC-U1000, 1000nM. Jacketed cables are encased by black plastic, 1/16" OD, IFC-E1000, 1000nM. What do modelers do with it? A recent magazine on model railroading showed how to build a lighted marquee using fiber optics. Pretty neat!! The big boys get $1.60 to $1.90/per foot for this stuff!! All fiber optics sold in 10-ft lengths. Extremely neat!!

Miniature 5–1/2" steel needle files. They come in the usual assortment of flat, wedge, triangular, and round shapes, (10) in all. They seem to be pretty uniformly fine with none that we would call coarse. Made in China, they come in a vinyl carrying case that snaps shut. Not as classy as some of the sets we have seen in the $18.00 range, but perfectly serviceable for most applications. And at a third the price.

Make your portable CD player really portable: take it for a ride with these skip stabilizers. The plastic housing is full of springs that should eliminate skips on all but the worst roads. Plus, each has an adapter that connects your car's cigarette lighter with your CD player. (To hear the music, though, you'll have to order-from us, naturally-a pair of speakers for the player's headphone jacks.) The DC-DC converter by itself would be a steal at this price. Use it for your CDs, or for any small DC appliance: tape deck or perhaps a portable espresso machine? Made by Koss; 5-5/8" x 6-3/8" x 1-1/4", black it's 6VDC, 500mA, with a 3.5mm plug. They take the standard 12VDC input.

The classic swinging balls, to amuse you on slow days in the office or physics lab, and to demonstrate Newton's Third Law. Drop one of the five hanging balls, one flies out from the other end; drop two and two fly out; drop three and it's amazing. The balls are set in a 7" x 9" x 9" high wooden frame. Isaac didn't invent these mesmerizing toys, by the way. That took Simon Prebble (whom some of you may remember as the evil Martin Chedwyn on "As the World Turns") who had an energy transference inspiration in 1967. (Where else can one learn these things?)

There is an entire class of transformers that surplus dealers call "AC Adapters." What we really mean is transformers that plug directly into the wall (primary voltage 110 VAC), and via a cord and/or plug provide various levels of output current at variou s voltages. It is a rare buyer of surplus that gets the plug configuration he/she wants, and many get snipped off (plugs that is). They are handy power supplies, battery charging units, substitutes for batteries in toys and games, or for providing safe il lumination to models and displays. Be sure to note whether the output is AC or DC (Direct Current, like a battery) and whether it can provide enough current for your application. Unless otherwise noted, all are suitable for indoor use only. Stick with us and you'll get the hang of adapting to AC...and at much lower prices than your friendly appliance/game/computer/calculator shop asks. Unless otherwise noted, all adapters are for 115 volt AC primaries, and all have about 6 ft. cords. (MA=Milliamp) (A=Amphere) (VDC= Volts DC) (VAC= Volts AC)t

Zillions of little bottles. Renegades from a pharmaceutical company, leftover unfilled from runs of exotic we-know-not-what. We have divided them into three basic shapes: A, Narrow Mouth, h (Narr Mo) have a 10mm dia. x 4mm long neck on top of a squarish shoulder, a 13mm dia. 3mm rim and a 7mm dia. opening; B, Wide Mouth, (Wide Mo) have a 16mm dia. x 4mm long neck on top of a squarish shoulder, a 19mm dia. x 3mm rim and a 12 or 13mm dia opening; C, Sloped Shoulder, (Sl Sh) have roughly 5-6mm long neck that tapers from the soft shoulder to 15mm dia, with a 19mm dia x 3mm rim and a 12-13mm dia. opening. Height refers to height overall, and dia. to the body dia. in the table below. Great items for the doll house (for kids old enough not to swallow them), to hold tiny wild flowers, for decorative art work, individual cruets, or just to hold and marvel at. All quite sturdy glass. In the real world, you would pay from $75 (smallest) to $225 (biggest) for 288 of these, which is the smallest quantity you could get!! Narrow mouth bottles take a #00 cork. (Our part number 88746) Wide mouth and sloped shoulder bottles take a #3 cork. (Our item number 88748)

Great for chokes, toroids, RFI suppression and much more. Our ferrite cores are attracted to magnets, but are not magnetic themselves. Edges are slightly beveled. 29122 is 1" O.D. x 5/8" I.D. x 1/4" thick. 35235 is 3/4" O.D. x 7/16" I.D. x 1–1/8" thick. 29180 is 1/2" O.D. x 1/4" I.D x 3/16"thick.
