Flat Mats
Let's cut to the chase here -- buy these the first time you read this, or they're going to be gone! There aren't that many of these flexible chopping mats, and the versatile 15" x 12" x 0.024" thick mats are not only ideal for small kitchens where every inch counts, they're great for any kitchen, and for cookouts, camping and picnics. Our each is a set of (2) of the translucent Euro-look mats that protect countertops from sharp knives and fresh-from-the-oven cookies, and protect food from outdoor surfaces. They can be lifted and slightly folded to funnel chopped food neatly into a pot. They're dishwasher safe, and roll up for portage or storage.

Our magnetic mixer is made for use in a laboratory, but could also be handy if you like your martinis stirred, not shaken, and your arm is tired after a long day at the lab. The unit is 4-3/4" square x 1-7/8" thick (you top it with the appropriate beaker), and stir speed is adjustable from 100 to 1,000 rpm. Capacity is 1 liter and the stir bar is included with the unit. A competitor of those Seal-a-Snack-like, hot-wire plastic-bag-sealing devices that no 1970 kitchen could be without. Still handy, however, in kitchen, lab, craft-room or shop. Comes with a 50-foot roll of 12"-wide, 1.5 mil bag material, but we think the refills for similar products still on the market would fit in the reservoir. Probably. Convert large water jugs into dispensers. This manual bellows-type water pump has an 18" (in two 9" pieces) x 7/16" ID inlet tube, a 5-1/2" long bent spigot, and comes with a small bottle brush for cleaning. The bottom of the pump fits many water jugs, with a split-flange coupling that's approx 2-3/8 ID and tightens down for a near-airtight fit.
