Good Glockenspiel, it's time these kids learned to tell time! The Clock Book, with its helpful 15-page story and colorful 6" dia clockface with movable hands, should do the tick. A nice teaching tool (with a cover price of $7.95!).

What's buried in the 2-1/4" high pyramid? A dark, super-slimy sarcophagus! It's entombed in iridescent less-slimy slime (to keep the slimes, no doubt, from becoming inseparable soul mates). Teasingly tactile -- but don't believe everything you read on the label about stretching, bouncing and blowing the slime.

Despite parental advice, here's a good reason to sit in in a dark room and think small. This Plasma Storm isn't as large as a standard plasma ball, so not only is it much more affordable -- the effect is concentrated and startling. The black plastic base has a switch. Turn it on at which point the 3" dia plastic globe (think baseball size) is filled with blue stems that flare to pink, looking like dozens of electric flowers searching for a way out. Very cool. Comes with a 6-ft power cord with transformer.

Or singing suppositories. The pair is very magnetic, whatever they are. The 1-3/4" long oblate spheroids look like highly polished black hematites. Hold them an inch apart in your palm, toss 'em into the air and listen to them make a sound like the cyber-crickets. Or an electrocuted chicken. The manufacturer suggests keeping these mega-magnets away from computers, pacemakers, TV sets and credit cards.

Chunky, dense rubber stamps: the gecko’s 5-1/4” long x 3-5/8” wide x 5/8” thick; the turtle’s 5-1/4" long x 3-5/8" wide x 11/16" thick; and the dragonfly is 4-1/8" long x 3-1/4" wide x 5/8" thick. The critters are large enough to make impressive imprints when you decorate the kids’ bedrooms. Bases are black; gecko’s lime green; turtle’s purple, green and pink; dragonfly’s green and purple—not that that matters in rubber stamps, but we’re using ours as big, garish luggage tags (they’ve got a little slit perfect for a hanging strap) so we can find our little black wheelie suitcase on the carousel with all the other little black wheelie suitcases.

The inside-out yo-yo. (Only the unimaginative call this a butterfly yo-yo.) It's red, it's plastic, it's 2-1/4" dia, it's on a 30" cord, and it goes up and down even though it's inside-out.

Call it Intro to Veggies, a kit with a couple of seed packets and a pair of 88-page spiral-bound books: "Kids Grow It," and "Mom Cooks It." Good basic introduction to growing things and then eating them, plus some nice garden projects. Surplusiness? Some books have a few duplicate pages. Think of them as extras and just tear 'em out.

And plenty of 'em. Our each is a sack of (50) assorted crescent moons (complete with the man in them) and happy little clouds, all made of dense foam about the thickness of a quarter. They run from 1-1/8" to 4" long in light and dark blue, yellow and white. Great for kids' crafts and decorating bedrooms. Bonus: the clouds would make perfect dialogue balloons for scrapbooks.
