Precision Hopscotch
We were SO tempted to put this in the tool section, instead of the toy section, even if it is from Ideal Toys. The 30-ft refillable chalk line reel works just like the grownup version, and it's a very attractive price, for as often as most of us use one. If anyone asks, tell them the 3-1/2" long plastic case is red and yellow so it's easy to find in your toolbox.

Artist's Brushes
Maybe a little eclectic for an artist with a single style, but perfect for one who's still searching for himself. Or for any hobbyist. There are no (2) brushes exactly alike in this set of (15). They all have natural bristles, color-coded wooden handles and metal ferrules, but they range from fairly fine to 1/2" wide, and 7" to 10" long. There are at least (3) different kinds of bristles, and they are round, blunt and pointed. A nice variety, and a very nice quality for this price.

They're Off!
Armed with orange-rubber squeeze bulbs, the Techie Team is blowing through the dust bunny races! Okay, it's a little exaggeration. They're not full-grown dust bunnies, they're dust specks. And the Techies are just blowing them off circuit boards, electrical contacts, and vintage Motown platters. But the 4" x 2" dia bulb with a 1/2" x 1/8" ID brass tube on the end has greater precision and a much longer shelf life than an aerosol duster, and provides more fun than they would ever have at Hialeah!

You've found a way to save money, you crafty little artist! Now you can enhance your projects with these incredibly priced, three-dimensional, flat-backed Fairies of the Garden from Accent Design's" Home Collection. The delicate polyresin "carvings" just need your finishing touches -- that would be glue, and paint, and imagination. So far, we've seen Hyacinth, Poppy, Daffodil, Rose and Daisy in both 2-1/4" and 3", but there may be others. Package of (6), with at least (2) different.

Hands-Free Measuring
What a clever gadget for youngsters and oldsters with hands too shaky to measure small amounts. It's one-piece, white-plastic, approx 5" dia, with (4) short arms radiating from a center circle that can hang from a small hook in your cabinet. At the ends of the arms are a 1-tablespoon, 1-teaspoon, 1/2-teaspoon and 1/4-teaspoon. The spoons sit flat and free both of your hands for pouring. The instructions say it "can be filled while sitting on the countertop," but we think you'll be more comfortable standing.

This ready-to-install mood lighting comes from a real 12-volt neon tube that gets power from the car’s cigarette lighter. A cute craft project for a girl (6 or over) and her favorite grownup, who will have to be there to help melt glycerin in the microwave. Together they can make and decorate heart-shaped bars of gift soap. The kit includes small cubes of green glycerin soap, (2) 1-3/4" plastic heart molds, trinkets to drop into the molds, Powerpuff Girls stickers for the wrapping, a 3" x 5" organza gift bag, and (20) tiny, self-adhesive "jewels" -- all in a cute pink-and-clear vinyl bag. That's what it says about these brushes on the package, and it's all true, assuming the E is silent. A set of (5) nylon artist's brushes, #s 1, 3, 5, 9 & 11, on wooden handles 11" to 13" long, all packed on top of an extremely thin 16" x 8" wooden palette. The price is nice. So are the brushes.

The above could be 757 jet service to the land of Selim the Sot, we suppose, but in this case it's a handy inflatable footstool for the road, campsites, dorm rooms, poolside or anyplace else where you need to put up your feet without lugging actual furniture or worrying about water damage. You pick black or an ivory/putty color vinyl and inflate the internal bladder to approx 14" tall x 16". The inflated result has an elasticized waist, making it something of a two-pouf stool.
