Chemical Overboots
Large, black rubber boots designed to fit over your normal footwear for protection from chemicals, solvents and other hazards. The design is such that we like them better for warmth and winter traction. But we're ahead of ourselves. They are large enough to fit comfortably over most any shoe or boot. The heavy sole extends forward and back and to both sides, and there are four large, molded-in eyelets. Laces or thongs are then used to cinch the sides firmly around the foot and to take up the slack. How about using the molded cleat bottom for ice fishing traction? Or keeping a pair in the trunk for slogging around in the slush changing tires and the like?? Or going to the costume ball as a survivor?? Made about (8) years ago for Uncle Sam.

The fitted plastic carrying case 12" x 8-1/2" x 3-1/2" contains not only the 120VAC-powered 8,000-30,000 rpm mini grinder, but a stand with a C-clamp to mount it on a bench or table, a 3-ft extension shaft, and a good assortment of bits, grinding stones, cut-off wheels, etc, including collets to fit 1/8" and 1/16" bits. The telescoping stand extends from 10" to almost 22" and holds the tool above your work, while you grind, sand, cut, etc., with the tip of the convenient, easy-to-grip, flexible extension. A nice package, and a very nice gift for yourself, or for anyone who enjoys working with hobby tools.

Whiteboard Hook
This 3" long gray plastic hook fits the top rail of a whiteboard and hold charts, graphs, notes, whatever, in a swiveling toothed grip. There's a second hook on the front of the top clip. We're sure there are thousands of other uses, we just haven't thought of them yet. Watch this space

Attach Anything!
You need this. Anybody who's ever made a third trip to the hardware store on the same day needs this. The (100) -- count 'em, (100) -- chrome vanadium driver and bit attachments include slotted, Phillips, square (Robertson) head, torx, hex and 12-point bits, plus security Phillips, torx and hex, and (4) different driver adapters (one of which, a super-cute cup-hook driver, has us oddly excited). They're all in a flip-top plastic case. How come it's surplus? If you turn it upside down and shake it, some of the bits fall out of their little size-marked slots. So don't do that. Or stick a thin sheet of foam inside it and all will be well.

Scrunch A Buncha Cans
Reduce recycling space with this wall-mount steel can crusher. Very satisfying to use: pull the 12-1/4" long padded handle and it easily smooshes cans up to 5-3/8" tall (standard aluminum beverage size) into squat little accordion-pleated stumps. The black and gray steel unit mounts with the included screws and has a handy bottle opener under its the front lip, because you don't.

Deutsche Soapbox?
Not for standing on and speechifying in Düsseldorf, but the sort that the German army passes out for keeping your bar of personal soap in. We think. Awfully nice little box in any case. Ivory (no pun intended) colored plastic, 4" x 2-1/2" x 1-1/2" high, with rounded corners and a top. Suitable for almost anything, and even though slightly abraded on the outside, attractive enough to sit right out in public.

The Monback Machine
Call it the Monback Machine, an electronic version of the guy directing you while you back in: "Monback, monback, monback, STOP!" You mount the 7-7/8" x 7/8" x 1-1/8" infrared-based back-up sensor near your rear license plate (or on it) and wire it to the reverse lights. A 1" black speaker with 10-foot leads mounts inside the car and beeps as you back up, getting faster and higher pitched as you approach objects. You adjust the triggering distance to a maximum of approx 3 feet. Includes mounting hardware and detailed instructions.
