Thermal Sensor
Heat switch that is normally open below 135° F and closes at higher temperature. Imagination is the limit here. We don't have formal electrical ratings but believe it can handle about 2 Amps @ 120 VAC. It can be used (perhaps with a relay) to trigger a fire alarm when mounted near a furnace, in a garage, or in an attic. How about using it to shut off electronics or motors when overheating occurs? Or to activate a fan for cooling? Use it to record how long the furnace is on to rate its efficiency. 5/8" dia x 3/8" sensor head with (2) 1/4" x 1-5/8" long fixed leads.

A Snarl of Magnet Wire
One of those sharpie East Coast outfits pulled a fast one on this poor naive Midwestern dealer. The result is we have a pile of exotic coated copper magnet wire. The coatings and colors vary widely, as does the gauge of the wire. With a couple of exceptions there isn't enough of any one kind among the hundreds in the pile to list separately. So we are offering an assortment and you get whatever we grab. Either way you will get a terrific value, particularly if you have an exotic application and get just what you need. Even if you are just making a garden variety coil or electromagnet you will still find the prices are very good. So go ahead, profit from our misfortune. We are glad to be of service. Sigh.

Hot Hot!!
This flash heating element out of a coffee maker really heats in a hurry!! It is designed only for use with a regulating heat switch (not included) and will melt itself in less than a minute if turned on un regulated with no water or other contents. It draws 8 amps @ 120 VAC max. 2" dia x 2-1/2" tall, OA. It holds about 1 oz. and has (2) spade terminals. A wonderful item when used correctly.

Heating Element
The heating element from a common household iron. Shaped like the base of an iron, 5-3/4" long x 3-3/8" wide, with an open 3-1/4" x 1"center. The element wire is embedded in ceramic, but is still a real fire hazard and will glow red at max temperature. It runs on 120 VAC and has (3) threaded hook-up terminals: the center is neutral, the two sides draw 200 and 400 watts or use both for 600 watts. Surface temperatures: 1250°F with 600 watts (5 amps), 1000°F with 400 watts (3 amps), and 700°F with 200 watts (1.5 amps). For safety's sake, please use it with a heat switch.

Peltier Heat Pump
High tech comes to Am Sci & Surp!! It is here in the form of a Peltier junction, a thermo-electric device that translates electric power into heat, and perversely, into cool. Apply current @ 3-12 VDC to the gizmo and it extracts thermal energy from one face, thereby cooling it. The heat is dumped onto the other face, thereby heating it. Please note: you must use a heat sink on the hot side or the junction will fry itself, since it can quickly create a 65° C temperature differential in a no load situation. Stack two, or build a cascade to increase the thermal differential created. Or run it backwards. Apply heat or cold to the relevant face and produce a current. Amazing for science projects and experiments. Practical for coffee warmers, beer coolers and mini-refrigerator or warming oven applications. Comes with instructions. Large is 1-9/16" sq. x 3/16" thick.

We like this Sonic Wave Ultrasonic Cleaner, and we've been able to price it very attractively. The white-plastic cleaner is 8" x 5-1/4" x 5-5/16" OA, with a 600 mL stainless steel cleaning well. Submerge jewelry, lenses, shaver heads, small machine parts, etc., in water approx 5-3/4" x 3-1/2" x 1-1/2" deep that cleans by vibrating 42,000 times per second. Water, Water Everywhere
The Noah's Flood Alarm alerts you instantly to a leaking hot-water heater or an overflowing tub. Place the small, flat plastic sensor where water shouldn't be. A 10-ft white wire leads to a 3-3/8" x 1-3/4" x 3/4" plastic housing with an LED alarm and (2) "AA" batteries (yours, not ours). Long, Tall Squirrel Cage Fan
With endless non-fan uses. We just don't know what they are, exactly. Would make a good paddle-boat wheel, or a mighty nice tower for your model of a 23rd-century galactic city, or even a cage for a tiny, tiny squirrel. It's aluminum, it's missing its motor and it measures 12" long x 2-3/8" dia with a 1/2" bore at one end and a 1/8" dia x 5/16" nipple at the other. And it's pretty-all shiny with good lines.

Tests your starter motor and alternator (or generator) too, and has a switchable 100A load. German Fan
This big 24 VDC German-made centrifugal fan from EBM-PAPST, originally an industrial exhaust fan, measures 9-1/2" dia x 3-3/8" thick with the motor housing protruding 7/16" from the bottom. It has (4) threaded 3/16" mounting holes, an impeller with (11) backward-curved blades, and a 22" 4-lead cable for power. It operates at 24VDC, 6 amps and has Lotsa power, our blower boffin says, and sharp; spins at 2700 rpm at full power and comes with a 10" dia x 1-1/4 thick steel inlet ring. It's mfr #R3G250-AJ64-20.
