Molon Mystery

Molon #LMO-6360-1 stepping motor of unknown voltage. Each step is 18° (20/rev). 2-5/16" dia. x 1-1/8" thick with a 1/4" dia. x 1-1/8" shaft. There is an easily removed, complicated mounting/coupling assembly on some of the motors but not on others.

Science Fare

Slightly larger than some of our hobby motors, this Mabuchi RS-365SH double-shaft motor is a good choice for science-fair projects. Its range is 6 VDC, 50 mA, 550 rpm to 24 VDC, 80 mA, 2,000 rpm. The 3/32" dia shaft extends 5/8" from the terminal end of the 1-1/2" x 1-1/16" dia motor, and 3/8" from the other end. It has (2) 5" leads.

Hobby Motors

You'll get two-fer-cheap. This permanent-magnet DC motor from Molon operates from 6-12VDC, max efficiency at 12VDC, 11,100 rpm at 1.40A. Measures 1-1/2" long x 1-1/16" dia with a 3/8" long x 3/8" dia striated shaft. Has (2) mounting holes on the face and power tabs on the back. Molon model numbers CMO-1237 and FRS-385S-2358N

Hobby Motor

Right nice little Mabuchi spinner just made for hobby applications and science projects. It's reversible, 6VDC, draws 170mA no load, stalls at 1.5A and will spin approx 750 rpm. Measures 1-1/2" long x 1-1/16" dia, with a 1/2" x 3/32" (not-flattened) shaft. Mabuchi model number RS-375S-2265.
