Microscope glassware for examination of blood, pond water, mold, and other minutiae. All of the microscope slides are optically clear glass 26mm x 76mm (about 1" x 3"), between 1mm and 1.2mm thick. The well slides, of course, have a concave well to hold a drop of liquid. Our each is a package of (12) well slides, or a box of (72) standard slides with ground or beveled edges. Cover glasses are the smaller and very thin pieces of glass used as the top of the glass slide sandwich. They are often used temporarily by simply dropping them onto a drop of liquid to flatten and spread it and to minimize evaporation. More confident microscopists will cement them in place to permanently preserve a specimen. Our each is a package of (100) cover glasses 18 mm square, #1 thickness (0.13mm to 0.17mm). If you need one, you need both.

Because it's one excellent spotting scope from Celestron®. A Maksutov-Cassegrain design with multi-coated optics, it has a 65mm dia aperture and 30-90X magnification. It comes with a tabletop tripod that adjusts from 9-1/2" to 12-1/2" tall, and has fine-tuning knobs for horizontal and vertical angles. The scope itself, with an image-erect 45-degree eyepiece, weighs just over a pound and measures 3-1/8" dia x 8-3/4". Comes in a very nice black, soft carrying case with a shoulder strap, a hook-and-loop closure, and a handy chamois tucked inside.

The three high-quality, turret-mounted objective lenses (4X, 10X and 40X) combined with the 10X eyepiece provide magnifications of 40X, 100X and 400X. It has a precise, stage-mounted rack-and-pinion focuser, a 6-aperture rotary diaphragm for light control, 5 prepared slides and 5 blank ones, just to get you started. It comes with a mirror to reflect ambient lighting, but you can kick up the light level by adding this small LED lamp with an 8" long gooseneck and (14) bright white LEDs. The lamp comes with (3) "AAA" batteries, but it never hurts to have fresh ones at hand.
