Call it DIY electron microscopy. You get (24) blown-up slides of assorted insect parts from an electron microscope, printed in 3-D, plus (6) pairs of 3-D glasses. Good intro to microscopy and bug anatomy. Each print of a slide is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" on cardboard stock. Includes a fact sheet and teacher's notes. For ages 7 and up, unless you have a thing about hairy tentacles.

Praxinoscopic Fun Kit
Animated kids (of any age) will love building their own praxinoscope, the successor to the zoetrope in the development of motion pictures. The finished product stands approx 5-1/4" tall with a 5" dia platform holding any of the (6) included pattern sheets, each with (2) animation patterns, or the (6) blanks waiting for creative urges to fill them. A 10-sided mirrored reflector is viewed through a frame, and includes a yellow LED for nighttime use. Button cell batteries included. For ages 8 and up.

Lay Siege To The Doghouse!
Right after you build your own working medieval catapult or trebuchet. All you'll need is glue, scissors and a steady hand (plus a small bag of marbles or rocks or something as a counterweight for the trebuchet) to construct these wooden, Canadian-made siege engine kits. The catapult stands 6" tall x 5" wide x 10" long and will toss assorted stuff 15 feet or farther, depending upon the stuff. The finished trebuchet will be 26" long x 18" wide x 24" tall and will propel small objects (meatballs?) 20 feet or more. Both include detailed instructions. Note: Please don't propel small mammals, and please don't put anyone's eye out.
